![]() ![]() The capture process works great and the system reboots into OOBE mode. ![]() Once that was done, I used \DeploymentShare$\scripts\Litetouch.vbs to start the image capture process to save the image to MDT. I dumped that file into %APPDATA%\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Shell as LayoutModification.xml as I read that it would apply those settings to each new profile created. I initially researched and found that I can run the command Export-StartLayout in powershell after I have configured / removed the start menu. In the start menu I'm wanting to remove all the live tiles except Microsoft Edge as well as remove things like Groove Music, Movies & TV, etc from the regular start menu. For example, I want to remove the Windows Store and Mail icon's on the taskbar. ![]() My main goal for creating a base reference image is to mainly have the start menu and taskbar customized so all the junk is removed and I don't spend countless clicks removing it post install. I'm installing directly from a ISO media and at the first OOBE prompt, I do CTRL Shift F3 to enter audit mode where I work on making the following changes. My reference image is being created in a VM environment to avoid the hardware compatibility issues. MDT will be doing the deployment and captures of the images I'm working on. I'm having an issue trying to get some basic things customized and sysprepped properly so that I can deploy a base image through MDT.Ĭurrently I have Win Pro to be used in deployments. ![]()
